PARTY TIME

Notes:

1. We decided to experiment with a new system...short periods of 10 mins each on 4 different sections...this was in the main succesful although 10 mins can be a short time for complicated subjects

2. Much of the mapping and compass work was aimed at improving their skills for a run of orienteering in the spring/summer. In the end Foot & Mouth put paid to this idea!

3. The Meteorology badge was chosen by the Scouts and taught by the leaders. In the end it proved a little more difficult for them to grasp than they first thought and was not completed succesfully (to the leaders satisfaction) before they 'lost interest' (obviously the leaders are just as much to blame for this loss of interest). We at the 9th do not hand out badges like sweets and unless they work damn hard for them they simply do not get them.
