The parents
notes and Oscars
summary are also available.
Notes
1. As is now our tradition we have a large folder containing
all relavent materials and information for the program as
well as each leader being given a program and information
pack. This year this included the sheets for the rooms, sixes,
codes, groups on the days out, games and more
2. Being experienced leaders we have always been able to
chop and change the programme at will, often at last notice.
So this time we have set the times for meals and days out
(to enable the cooking crew to plan properly) but the exact
activities are detailed in the leaders notes. This enables
us to swap things around without causing undue confusion by
reading an outdated programme. With proper communication and
competent leaders this should be no problem.
3. The games were detailed in full and assigned to certain
leaders. As we had several new leaders with us along with
some Explorers it was an attempt to make sure that they felt
valued and included without dumping them in at the deep end.
4. The theme was reality TV throughout the week. The diary
room video was available to the Cubs to use several times
throughout the week.
5. We tried something different this year with leader groups.
The 3 most experienced leaders went in one group and all the
other leaders went into another group. We alternated day to
day for taking the Cubs through all the work (the other group
was always to hand if requested or to help with minor chores).
It worked in some ways and failed completely in others. Email
for more details if you wish.
