1. This program had to fit in with the new times introduced
to the hall (as an AfterSchool Club now meet until 6:15 in
the hall we had to move to a half hour later start and shuffle
how the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts meet). Hence the rather strange
thing of having inspection/subs at 8 and Flag at 8:35.
You may note that in our group the times for Scouts and Cubs
overlap. This is a problem since 2001 due to the Church changing
the agreement with the group regarding hall hire. We are lucky
enough to have a large hall and a small hall next door. The
beavers meet from 6:30 to 8:00 in the small hall, the cubs
from 6:30 to 8:30 in the large hall, the scouts from 8 to
8:30 in the small and then back into the big hall at 8:30
when the cubs have gone. This means that Akela takes the Scouts
from 8 to 8:30 in the small hall while I finish Cubs, at other
times the leaders all muck in together.]
2. This program was completely planned and run by the Patrol
Leaders themselves (well.. except for the fact that much of
the 'teaching' of the badgework had to be done by the leaders.
What I mean is they plan and execute the program..that does
not mean they have to teach and assess the badges).
