How to tie a Timber Hitch<\/h2>\n

Pass the end (green end) of the rope around a pole (make sure you leave a long working end - give yourself plenty of rope to play with). Cross the end over itself.

Now tuck the end under itself working back around the pole. Keep doing this until you have run out of rope and have formed a series of tucks around the pole.
